MoM, or Mothers of Monsoon, is organizing a monthly gathering parents of Asian & Pacific Islander children to connect, share resources and be in community. This group is inclusive to other communities of color (and/or parents that don’t identify as API) but who may find this group to be beneficial. Street parking is available in front of the community space (beige house with wooden fence around the property). Light beverages and snacks will be provided.

The MoM support circle in Central Iowa will be led by Audri Lu-Uhlken, Monsoon’s Community Health Outreach Coordinator, often with a guest speaker as a co-facilitator.

Monsoon’s commitment to ending gender-based violence includes addressing the health and well-being of our communities. Our Community Health Gatherings serve as a space to share knowledge, build connections, and engage in practices that nurture both individual and collective resilience.

Through these gatherings, we offer culturally responsive wellness activities, health education, and shared resources that address the unique needs of Asian and Pacific Islander communities. By prioritizing individual and collective healing, we strengthen the foundation for long-term change and community care.
