Violet Baccam is a part-time Community Health Outreach Worker at Monsoon Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity. She was born and raised in Des Moines within the Taidam and Vietnamese communities, and identifies as Southeast Asian-American. Violet graduated from Drake University in 2014 with a B.S. in Health Sciences and a minor in Biology. She then obtained her Master in Public Health in 2017. Prior to working at Monsoon, Violet worked in various healthcare settings. In 2022, she co-founded a non-profit organization for parents in the Des Moines area, MAEVE Des Moines, where she also serves as President. In her free time, Violet enjoys spending time with her family and friends, her partner, Cesar, and their two children, Katalina and Dominick.
