Audrey Inouye has been practicing as a licensed acupuncturist for the past ten years and completed her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine at Acupuncture & Integrative Medicine College in Berkeley where she was opened up to the life-changing power of natural medicine and energy work. Prior to this, Audrey received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UC Irvine. In 2021, Audrey began receiving training from Nina Jusuf at NAPIESV in how sexual assault affects Asian and Pacific Islander communities. This led to a collaboration with other practitioners in contributing self care exercises to the NAPIESV Wellness Guide. Then, as a recipient of the ARP grant in 2023, Audrey started the Peaceful Heart Project to provide free holistic wellness for sexual assault survivors, dependents and advocates. Audrey is new to both a focus on sexual assault (SA), as well as non-profit structured work, and is grateful for the opportunity for continuous learning and to be of service to communities in need. Audrey has especially enjoyed working with youth and young adults and it’s been amazing to see Peaceful Heart Project grow and be a positive influence for participants and collaborators. She hopes through the knowledge and experience she has acquired from both Eastern and Western influence, to help bring balance to the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health of those she works with.
