Monsoon participated in a community panel on “Health Disparities and Social Determinants of Health” with first year med students led by Dr. Julia Van Liew at Des Moines University.

Community Health Coordinator, Audri, spoke about various health disparities impacting Asian and Pacific Islander communities, including the need for more medical providers to advocate for COFA migrants to receive Medicaid benefits, which they are currently ineligible for.

This month's Mothers of Monsoon Wisdom Circle will feature a workshop on disaster preparedness with special guest, Michael Rojas, Disaster Program Officer with Volunteer Iowa. Every participant will receive a free at-home emergency preparedness kit.

Our community of parents and care givers are always looking to learn and grow. Mental Health Therapist, Malay Bouaphakeo (@thefullpursuitcoach) did a phenomenal job walking our Moms Wisdom Circle through Attachment Theory and how it affects our relationships day-to-day.
