Ebtehal Alzakrooty is an advocate and Program Coordinator at SAFI (Support for Arab Families in Iowa), a program under Monsoon Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity for victims/survivors of gender-based violence and community development in Arab populations. She came to the United States in 2014 as a refugee from Iraq. Ebtehal has a bachelor’s degree in Public/International Relations from Baghdad University. She has previously worked in television production, and her experience includes news coverage, and writing and editing scripts for children’s shows and dramas.
