Deanna Kwon is a multilingual advocate at Monsoon Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity, an organization serving victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking in Asian and Pacific Islander communities in Iowa. She speaks Japanese, Korean, and English. She was born in Japan and moved to South Korea when she was 5. She grew up in Busan, South Korea then moved to the United States as a student in 2013. Deanna completed her Bachelor’s degree programs in Economics and Psychology at the University of Iowa. She also joined the US Armed Forces as a Army Reserves member and is currently serving the nation as a reservist.
