When Monsoon began working with youth in 2008, boys who participated in the violence prevention program began to question why “boys and men” are not part of Monsoon’s name. 10 years later, we have decided to change our name to Monsoon Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity in order to be more inclusive and acknowledge the violence men in our communities face as well, particularly API men who identify as part of the LGBTQ community.
