Usicha Marchant is the financial manager at Monsoon Asians & Pacific Islanders in Solidarity, an organization serving victims/survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in Asian and Pacific Islander communities in Iowa. She was Monsoon’s first multilingual advocate, providing direct services and conducting community outreach and education from 2009 to 2010. Usicha was born and grew up in Thailand, where she completed a master’s degree in Education and a bachelor’s degree in English and Japanese. She has worked as a university instructor, translator, interpreter, web master, photographer, office manager and consular fraud investigator in Thailand, Burma, Cambodia, Australia and the United States.
