Kahmun Yap is a multilingual campus advocate at Monsoon United Asian Women of Iowa, an organization serving victims/survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking in Asian and Pacific Islander communities in Iowa. She was born in and raised in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia and have full professional proficiency in English, Mandarin, and Malay. She speaks limited Cantonese and has an elementary proficiency in Hokkien and Hakka. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Information Systems. She is passionate about female empowerment and feel really strongly against women’s unequal status in society.
